PRINCIPAL’s MESSAGE

L. M. College of Pharmacy (LMCP) was founded in 1947 on a humble donation of Rs. 3.0 lakhs by the family of late Seth Shri Lallubhai Motilal after whom the college is named. The college is run by the prestigious “The Ahmedabad Education Society”.

The current intake capacity of D.Pharm.,B.Pharm., M.Pharm., Pharm D., Pharm. D (PB) is 120, 90, 75, 30 and 10 respectively. We have trained more than 7500 D.Pharm., 5500 B.Pharm., 2200 M.Pharm., 70 Pharm. D and 225 Ph.D. during the more than 75 years. The state of Gujarat produces nearly 40% of the drugs manufactured in India. One of the reasons for such a phenomenal growth of the Pharma industry in Gujarat is the presence of LMCP in the state.

LMCP is accredited by NAAC with “A” grade and conferred with autonomous status by University Grants Commission. Institute has improved its NIRF-2024 ranking by six numbers and reached to 52.

The performance of the students in the University and competitive examinations (GATE, GPAT, CAT, NAPLEX, TOEFL, etc.) is par excellence. The campus placement is almost 100% for the graduate and postgraduate students. More than 60% of the graduates are settled abroad. The major strength of the college is the experienced staff members and modern research laboratories. The college’s library is considered as one of the best pharmacy library in the country. The college has filed sixty five patents in Indian Patent office, Mumbai after 2002, out of which twenty nine patents are granted. The research work of the postgraduate students and the Ph. D. students is regularly published in leading international refereed journals. The college regularly receives financial assistance from the funding agencies such as DST, UGC, ICMR, GSBTM, AYUSH, GUJCOST, etc. Institute has received more than 12 Crore rupees support under CSR initiatives of the renowned Pharma industries. Institute has also signed MoU with many renowned pharma companies for collaborative research, training and placements.

To inculcate the culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the students we have various platforms like Institutional Innovation Council (IIC), Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) nodal centre and Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) in place at the institute. We are hosting first of its kind Pharma and Healthcare sector specific Atal Incubation Centre to nurture the startups.

Our aim is to make LMCP globally renowned Pharmacy institute by imparting high quality education and world class research.
